Ivan Lestan

1934 — April 9, 2015

Ivan Lestan, 81, of Winthrop Harbor passed away April 9, 2015. Ivan was born April 8, 1934 in Nova Gorica, Slovenia. He married Juliana Bevcar on February 11, 1956 near Aversa, Italy. He was a generous man and the people that worked for him loved him. Ivan loved engineering and automation, and enjoyed tinkering in the machine shop in his basement. His three grandchildren were his greatest joy. He is survived by his children Caterina Peterson, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Elizabeth (James) Delaney of Winthrop Harbor, and Tony (Jona) Lestan of Waterford, WI; grandchildren Thomas and Charles Lestan of Waterford, WI, and Catherine Delaney of Winthrop Harbor; and a special friend Joanne Todzy. The family would like to thank Dr. Tien Cheng for his friendship and continued care over the years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Juliana; father and mother Franz and Antonia Lestan; and the uncle who raised him, Tony Zivec. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Road, Beach Park. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass.
