Jack L. Edwards, 66, of Zion, Illinois, died in an automobile accident on March 5, 2013.
He was born on December 4, 1946, and was a lifelong resident of Zion. Jack was a graduate of ZBTHS, class of '65 and Greenville College, class of '69. He served in the Peace Corps in India and taught for a number of years in Lake County. He served on the District 6 school board and was a member of Christ Community Church.
Jack is survived by his wife, Mary (nee, McCarthy); and his brother, Roger (Jean) Edwards of Bowie, MD. He is also survived by his step mother, Jettie Rose Glenn Edwards and siblings, Victoria (Don) Wilson, Pamela (Jack) Brown, Andrea (Randy) Whitmore, and John (Jean) Glenn as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy (nee, Keister); father, Donald Edwards; and younger brother, Donald Jr.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Dr., Zion. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory can be made to Camp Zion, a ministry of Christ Community Church.
