Jack L. Peterson Age 80, of Wadsworth, IL, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 21, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 16, 1932 in Waukegan, IL, and moved to Wadsworth, IL in 1966. Jack graduated from Waukegan Township High School in Waukegan, IL. He loved his country and proudly served with the United States Air Force from 1950 until 1955. On May 14, 1955 he married Barbara Sue Lawrence of Fayette, AL. Jack accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior when he was in the Air Force. Jack worked as a journeyman plumber for his father at J.W. Peterson Plumbing and took over ownership of the company. He has always enjoyed jazz music; and in his younger years playing in the High School band. Jack loved dogs, working on cars, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting trips, nature, flowers and gardening, and especially walking along the beach. He found great joy talking to everyone; and no one was a stranger to him. He leaves behind many dear friends whom he cherished spending time with. Many will miss his warm smile and generous heart.
Jack, beloved husband for 57 years, is survived by his wife Barbara Sue (nee Lawrence) Peterson. Other survivors include children, Kay Lynn (Cecil) Scales of Kenosha, WI and Joan (Terry) Boone of Winthrop Harbor, IL, six grandchildren, Christina (Joe) Cabadas of Caledonia, WI, Jennifer Scales and Jeffrey Scales both of Kenosha, WI, Lyndsie Boone and Leigh Boone of Winthrop Harbor, IL and Lana (Jeff) Norman of Winthrop Harbor, IL; one great-grandson Jack Ryan Cabadas; and a special nephew, Gary (Terri) Weber and niece, Jill (Wayne) Zink.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jay Peterson, sister Jean Weber; and his parents, John W. and Lenora Peterson. We would like to give special thanks to his care givers Ashley, Jamie, and Ranica.
