Jack Ross Walton, 65, of Indian Hills, Colorado, formerly of Winthrop Harbor, IL, died suddenly on Sunday, September 7, 2014.
Jack was born August 31, 1949, in Kenosha, WI. Friend and confidant to many, Jack Walton was an amazing man who embraced family, loved adventure, and lived life to the fullest. Jack had a passion for racing, as a lifelong member of the American Motorcycle Association (AMA), his love of motocross kept him competing most of his life. He was a true pioneer in the excavating industry, flourishing as much in business as in his personal life. Our hearts ache today, but his memory will forever make us smile.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Margaret (nee, Cairns), loving children, Jesse (Melissa) Walton and Joseph Walton; adoring Pa to Hannah, Jackson, and Hayden Walton; mother, Jean "MeMe" Walton; sisters, Lynda (Ron Nickelsen) Guynn and Judy (Tom) Buchta; brother, Jim Walton; brother-in-law, Bill (Sue) Cairns , sisters-in-law, Deb (Ken) Richardt and Pam (Kent) Peterson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Ross Walton; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stuart and Ethel Cairns.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 13, 2014, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL, with a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Jack Walton Motocross Scholarship Fund, c/o Margi Walton, P.O.
