James Campbell, 77, of Zion, IL died August 16, 2016 at Kenosha United Hospital, after a lengthy illness.
James was born April 9, 1939 in Greenville, SC. He resided in Waukegan, IL and Zion, IL. James married Inge Campbell. He served in the United States Army for 8 years, he earned many honors and held the position of Tank Commander. He was honorably discharged. He had a love for flying, boating, fishing, motorcycling, and racing.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Inge; sons, Larry (Cheri) Campbell, and Rick (Nancy) Campbell; ten grandchildren, Larry Jr., Paul, Robby, April, Rick, Elena, Matthew, Stephanie, Brittany, and Dustin; 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Ann; sisters, Frances Campbell, Gladys Ragsdale; brothers William Campbell, Marquris Williams, and Arthur Campbell.
Interment service will take place Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, 1436 Kenosha Rd., Zion, IL.
