James B. Fout, 82, of Zion, IL died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 surrounded by his family.
Jim was born July 13, 1933 in Terre Haute, Indiana. He married Rebecca Marie Genorski on January 24, 1953 at North Prairie United Methodist Church in Winthrop Harbor, IL, and was also a member of the church. He owned two barber shops in Zion and Winthrop Harbor, worked as a carpenter, building many homes in the Winthrop Harbor area, and also worked as the building inspector. He enjoyed playing golf and ran a small business out of his house building golf clubs. On Jim’s best days, you could find him in the yard on his John Deere.
He is survived by his children, Jimmy Fout of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Randy Fout of Oceanside, CA, Christy Smith of Zion, IL and Rick (Kim) Fout of CO; 9 grandchildren, Lyndsey and Dylan Fout, Jake and Josh Fout, Jamey (Jaclyn) and Jesse (Josh Deeben) Smith, and Wesley, Ben, and Emily Fout; 5 great-grandchildren, Rocky, Ryder, Ava, Aubry and Wyatt; siblings, Rosanne and Ronny Fout; and numerous other relatives.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca; and parents, Bert and Zella Fout.
A visitation will be held Monday, April 4, 2016 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at North Prairie United Methodist Church, 5000 9th St., Winthrop Harbor, with Pastor Miguel Nieves officiating. Interment will follow at Northshore Garden of Memories, Northshore Garden of Memories.
