James P. "Jim" Hamsing, 68, of Kenosha, WI, died on Monday, February 27, 2012, at St. Catherine's Hospital in Pleasant Prairie, WI.
Jim was born October 21, 1943, in Kenosha and had been previously employed for the Southern Wisconsin Center in Union Grove where he was a valued employee. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Jim was a volunteer with the Westosha Senior Center (also serving on their Board of Directors) and with the Kenosha Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed woodworking projects, in particular, carving wooden canes.
Survivors include a daughter, Heather (Lonnie) Wilson; brothers, Peter (Alberta) Hamsing of Mineral Wells, TX, David Hamsing of Salem, WI, Thomas (Sherri) Hamsing of Kenosha,WI; sisters, Judith (Duane) Peacy of Zion, IL, Joan McNeil of Round Lake, IL, and Kathleen (Larry) Cochran of Ozark, AL; many nieces and nephews; other family and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Hamsing; his mother, Anna Mary (Hamsing) Brunner; and brother, John Hamsing.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Cemetery, Kenosha, WI.. Visitation will be Sunday, March 4, 2012, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
