James Edward Mink, 47, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Aurora Medical Center, Kenosha, WI, with his family by his side following a brief illness.
Jamey was born February 7, 1968, in Waukegan, IL, and graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School in 1987. He married Sandy Harper on June 20,1992, at the First Baptist Church of Winthrop Harbor. Jamey was employed by Kone Cranes of Chicago, IL. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed Motocross and considered himself the "Grill Master" of outdoor cooking. An avid sports fan, he supported the Chicago Black Hawks, Ole Miss Rebels, and most of all the Dallas Cowboys.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 23 years, Sandy; sons, Jody Walker and Austin Mink, both of Winthrop Harbor, IL; mother, Shirley Mink of Zion, IL; sister, Renae (Refugio) Figueroa of Zion, IL; cousin, Randy (June) Mink of Winthrop Harbor, IL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Billy and Betty Harper of Winthrop Harbor, IL; sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Dan) Seward of Salem, WI, and Shelly (Jeff) Brown of Winthrop Harbor, IL; many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; and other family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Mink, and sister, Teresa Ford.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2015, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion IL. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL.
