James D. Minor, Ph.D. died peacefully on Monday, August 30, 2010 with his loved ones by his side.
Jim was born December 24, 1940 in Columbia, Missouri to William Minor and Margaret Brooks. He earned his Ph.D. in Entomology, was a Master Diver, a Jeweler, and was owner of A-Rest-A-Pest for over 20 years.
Survivors include his son, Devin J. Minor of Kenosha, Wisconsin; his daughter, Jada India Banks of Chicago, Illinois; five step-children, Gill Smith of Waukegan, Illinois, and Michael, Latasha, Brandon, and Gilbert Allen all of Waukegan, Illinois; his ex-wife, Nancy M. Minor of Kenosha, Wisconsin; his significant other, Jonell Gilmore of Zion, Illinois; and a host of grandchildren and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Missionary Church, 1415 27th Street, Zion, Illinois, Pastor Douglas Carlson officiating. A visitation will be held at the Church on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until time of services. Memorial donations to the family have been suggested.
