James “Jim” Wilkins, 92, of Winthrop Harbor, IL passed away on December 9, 2016.
Jim was born November 19, 1924 in Kentucky to Tyler and Austin Wilkins, he was the oldest of 16 children. Jim married Daisy “Sis” Clark in 1951. He served in the United States Navy, after which he moved to Winthrop Harbor where he worked as a builder/contractor and owned Craft Construction. His passion was raising Quiet Meadow Arabian horses. He was a member of Anchor and Ark Lodge 1027 of Waukegan, IL for 58 years.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Daryl Albert; 3 grandchildren, Wendi (Reese) Miller, Jodi Brown, and Staci (Tony) Kucharski; 6 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Luke and Josh Miller, Amber Brown, and Tyler and Trevor Kucharski; 11 siblings; and a brother-in-law, Dave Clark.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his Mother and Father; and 4 siblings.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Rev. Jason Ingram, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
