Janet L. Bock Koustrup, 91, died on September 24, 2016 at Alden Estates of Naperville, IL.
Janet was born May 14, 1925 in Waukegan and lived in this area all of her life. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Zion where she also belonged to the Ladies Guild of the Church. She owned and operated Bock’s Food Store in the 60's and 70's on Sheridan Road in Winthrop Harbor. Later she worked at Wieboldt’s at Lakehurst Mall and The Globe Department Store in Waukegan. Janet was an avid country music fan but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children Susan Bock (Gerald) Granger of Asheville, NC, and Bradley K. (Rene) Bock of Las Vegas, NV; son-in-law Wesley A. Hull of Naperville, IL; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil A. Bock on August 18, 1966, whom she married on July 24, 1943 in Zion; one daughter Sandra Lee Hull; three grandchildren Joshua B. Granger, Gerald L. Granger Jr., and Erik B. Bock; one brother Floyd Greenwald; one sister Phyllis Dawson; and her parents Charles and Pearl Greenwald.
A cemetery graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Pineview Memorial Park, Beach Park, IL. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association have been suggested.
