Janice R. Maki, 53, of Winthrop Harbor, IL died October 19, 2015 at home.
She was born February 11, 1962 in Waukegan and graduated from Zion Benton Township High School in 1980. Janice worked for Plasco Inc for 19 years. She was an avid Chicago Bulls fan and other sports and had a love for Star Wars.
Janice is survived by her Mother, Alice (Maki) Heikkala of Trout Creek, MI; step-father, Paul Heikkala of Trout Creek, Mi; siblings, Jeanne Maki of Fulton, MS, Margaret (Ben) Swanson of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Valerie (Gene) Wood of Kenosha, WI, Andrew Maki of Houghton, MI, Dee (Wayne) Dozler of Decatur, IL, and Patrick (Dawn) Maki of Watersmeet, MI; a special great niece, Autumn Maki; a special great nephew and buddy, Jayden Swanson; a very special cousin, Jana Lee, who she loved with all her heart; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Maki; brother, Nick Maki; and grandparents, Nick and Margaret Maki and George and Altha Tooley.
A visitation will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A private interment will take place in the upper peninsula of Michigan at a later date.
