Jennie A. Biga, 86 of Waukegan, IL, died on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion. Jennie was born February 23, 1922, in Trenary, MI. She was a faithful member of the Alter Guild, Hospitality Team, Rachel Circle and the Women of the E.L.C.A. at Trinity United Lutheran Church.
She married John J. Heraver on January 31, 1948, in Waukegan, and after his passing, married her second husband, Robert Biga on February 25, 1966, also in Waukegan. Jennie was formerly employed for the Great Lakes Naval Base and also by the Pioneer Title Company in Waukegan. Jennie was a very caring and generous person. For many years Jennie volunteered her time at the C.O.O.L. Food Pantry, helping the less fortunate. Jennie enjoyed playing ballina with her team of long time friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Jennie helped her children and grandchildren take their first steps, and they were at her side for her last steps.
Survivors include her children, Katherine Heraver of Zion, Paul (Sandra) Heraver of Zion, Eva Sue Heraver of Warner Springs, CA, Marie (Jeff) Hiller of Loveland, CO, and Elizabeth Heraver of Waukegan; grandchildren, Jospeh Hallinen, Nicole Heraver, David Allen, Jacob Hallinen, Stacey Heraver, and Brittney Allen; great-grandson, Zach Hallinen; sisters, Ida Kallio of Trenary, MI and Ruth (Arnie) Ellsworth of Saginaw, MI; brothers, Art (Anne) Kallio of Trenary, MI, Donald (Verna) Kallio of Trenary, MI and Lauri (Peggy) Kallio of Albuquerque, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Eva Marie Heraver; husbands, John J. Heraver Jr. and Robert Biga; her father and mother, Paul and Jennie Kallio; and sisters, Esther Hallinen, Helen Viton, and Impi Moran.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 13, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Lutheran Church, 658 Grand Ave., Waukegan. Friends may greet the family on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
