Jennifer Leigh Adams, (nee Oswald), 57, of Mabelvale, Arkansas, died on Tuesday, April 3, at Cancer Treatment Center of America at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion, Illinois.
Jennifer was born May 15,1949, in Lake Forest, Illinois. She was raised in Naperville, Illinois, and lived in Hot Springs, Arkansas from 1979-2002. Jennifer taught school in Thailand from 2003-2006, and returned to Arkansas where she taught at Methodist Family Health Day Treatment Center. She received her undergraduate degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and Masters Degree from Henderson State University in Arkansas. Jennifer married Tom Owen on June 25, 2003.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Owen of Mabelvale, Arkansas; a daughter, McKendra Adams of Hot Springs, Arkansas; granddaughter, Yemaya Adams; 3 sisters, Jeananne (John) Yanko of Dallas, Texas, Carol (Gib) Drendel of Batavia, Illinois, and Linnaea (Bill) Butterfield of Zion, Illinois; 8 nieces and nephews, and 19 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Ray and Jennie Oswald.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Assistance in Healthcare Foundation of the Midwestern Regional Medical Center, 2520 Emmaus Ave., Zion, IL 60099
