Dr. Jerald Joe Archer, 85, of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois passed away June 14, 2023, in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Jerald was born in Norton, Kansas on January 13, 1938. Jerald graduated from Norton High School in 1956; Fort Hays Kansas State College in 1959, and University of Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1963. He married Carole (nee Callaghan) on June 9, 1962 at Paseo Methodist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. Jerald was a Commander and active duty Navy dentist (1963-1990) and then was a Navy civilian contract dentist (1990-2003). He was a member of Boy Scouts of America; Alpha Omega Honors Fraternity; and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honors Fraternity. Jerald was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.

Jerald had the opportunity to live in many different places including, Norton, Kansas; Kansas City, Missouri; Oceanside, California; Manhattan, Kansas; Quantico, Virginia; Virginia Beach, Virginia; Keflavik, Iceland; Altamonte Springs, Florida; Jacksonville, Florida; Beach Park, Illinois and Winthrop Harbor, Illinois.

Jerald accepted Christ in October of 1964 while stationed in California, and lived faithfully until his death, serving as a teacher and deacon in many of his subsequent church homes, including serving as a member of the Gideons International, distributing bibles to schools, hospitals and prisons.

Jerald is survived by his wife, Carole Marie Archer; children, David (Leslie) Archer and Christine (Rodney) Stare; grandchildren Carlie and Paige Stare.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Susie Archer; sister, Hazel Hensley; and brother, Eldon Archer.

A visitation will be held at 11:00am on June 24, 2023 at Victory Baptist Church (

3401 Springbrook Rd, Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158

), followed by a celebration of life at 12:00pm. A graveside service will be held following the celebration of life at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL.
