Jerry Wilburn, 77, of Zion, IL passed away on March 14, 2021, in Waukegan, IL He was the son of Burell (Mary Alice nee Parker) Wilburn in Tupelo, MS on June 16, 1943. After Jerry graduated from High School he proudly served his country by joining the Army. He then went to work at OMC Johnson Motors where he worked until his retirement after 34 years. He also met his loving wife Terry and was married on May 27, 1974. After his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially going to the Wisconsin Dells every year with the entire family. He also enjoyed going to Las Vegas and playing Wheel of Fortune Slots. He was a friendly neighbor making sure he waved to all who walked or drove by. Most of his neighbors knew him as "The Mayor" because he would make sure things got done! When he wasn’t spending time with his family and friends you could find him with a scratch-off ticket in one hand and a PBR in the other. Jerry is survived by his loving wife Terry, his children; Lisa (Angelo) Eliades, Steve (Chris) Wilburn, Amanda Wilburn (Terrance),his grandchildren; Jacob, Madison, Mitchell Wilburn, his siblings; Linda Krok, Wanda Vales, Donnie (Lynn) Wilburn, several nieces, and nephews, previous spouse; Linda Mayfield, and his pet cat, Norman. He is preceded in death by his parents, step-father Larry Rucks, a nephew, and aunts, uncles. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021, from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Congdon Funeral Home located at 3012 Sheridan Rd Zion, IL 60099
