Joan E. Handyside

Joan E. Handyside, 75, of Zion, IL died July 8, 2015 at home. Joan was born June 12, 1940 in Ft. Scott, KS. She married Clarence Handyside on November 1, 1956. She was a homemaker and loved to play bingo in her free time. She is survived by her husband, Clarence Handyside; children, Cathy (Brian) Lau of Cumming, GA, Carl Handyside of Wadsworth, IL, Steve Handyside of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Ken (Ganeen) Handyside of Pleasant Prairie, WI; grandchildren, Madeline Lau and Samantha Lau; brother, Norman R. Grass of Hutchinson, KS; and sister Pauline Burke of Leon, KS. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Emma Grass; sister Mary Ellen Panek; and brother Joseph Lee Grass. A memorial visitation will be held Monday, July 13, 2015 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL.
