Joanne Brubaker

Joanne Elaine Brubaker, 82, of Kenosha, WI, and formerly of Zion, IL, died on Sunday, June 7, 2009. Joanne was born October 27, 1926, in Cassoday, KS, and married Jay Omar Miller Brubaker on January 20, 1951, in Kasbeer, IL. She served as Pre-School Director, at the Circle Center for Child Development at Christ Community Church in Zion for 18 years. Joanne was a member of Crossway Community Church in Bristol, WI, where she served as Prayer Team Leader and Care Group Leader. She also worked as a Consultant in Children's Education for Scripture Press in Wheaton, IL, and illustrated children's books, including "Pictorial Pilgrim's Progress." Survivors include four daughters, Karen(Ray) Aldridge of Hampshire, IL, Cheryl (Daryl) DeVries of Lynchburg, VA, Ellen (Jeff) Gingrich of Mt. Joy, PA, and Beverly (Michael) Bullmore of Kenosha, WI; 13 grandchildren, Ben (Clover) Aldridge, Ashley Aldridge, Lindsay and Brittney Aldridge, Ben (Cheryl) DeVries, Stephanie (Jeff) DeVries Taylor, Joshua DeVries, Lauren and Collin Gingrich, Cameron Gingrich, Abigail and Madeline Bullmore, and Graham Bullmore; two great-grandchildren, Soren Aldridge and Ava Taylor; sister, Dorothy (William) Turner of Tulsa, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Omar Brubaker in 1996; brothers, Neal and Jim Cameron; and parents, James and Beulah Cameron. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at Crossway Community Church, 13905 75th St., Bristol, WI 53104, with Dr. Michael Bullmore, officiating. There will be a visitation prior to the service starting at 5:00 p.m. A graveside service for the immediate family will be held at Limerick Cemetery, Kasbeer, IL. Memorial donations are suggested to Crossway Community Church or Grace Missionary Church, 1415 27th St., Zion, IL 60099.
