John E. Brown, Jr., 65, of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 in Englewood, Florida. John was born November 28, 1942 in Waukegan to the late John Sr. and Alice Brown.
John worked as an electrical engineer at Abbott Laboratories for 44 years, retiring in 2003. John loved his horses, dogs and cats, and enjoyed NASCAR races, basketball, hockey and fishing. He belonged to the Zion-Benton Moose Lodge #667 and Anchor and Ark Masonic Lodge #1027, A.F. & A.M> of Waukegan.
Survivors include his wife, Robin; three daughters, Wendi (Resse) Miller, Jodi Brown, and Staci (Tony) Kucharski; grandchildren, Amber Brown, Jacob Miller, Lucas Miller and Joshua Miller; one brother, James (Josie) Brown; his sister-in-law, Cindy Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard; and his parents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2008 from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. at CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, where Moose services will be held at 3:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Moose Charities, 155 S. International Drive, Mooseheart, Illinois have been suggested.
