John L. Packard (JP) passed away with his step-son Joe by his side in Kenosha, WI on February 3, 2022. He was born as John L. Coyle on December 2, 1956 and was later adopted along with his brother Steve by his parents Jack A. and Mae (Roenia) Packard (formerly of Winthrop Harbor, IL). John married the love of his life, Teri (Allen/Grissom) on June 27, 2002 in Waukegan, IL.
JP was an amazing Pop-Pop to his five grandchildren: Kayla (Jesse) Kenowski, Cassandra (Shawn) De Mint, Trenton, Ayden, and Easton Grissom as well as his three great grandchildren Elijah and Ella Burton and Elizabeth Kenowski as well as his step-children Julie (Chad) Cummings and Joseph (Britten) Grissom.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mae and his wife Teri.
JP found Christ at First Baptist Church of Winthrop Harbor, IL, which is why his family has peace that he is now in Heaven with his Savior. He was a helpful and friendly man and was loved by so many more people than he ever realized. Though he was sober for years, he found friendship and “family” in the staff, owners, and patrons of Blue Collar Tavern at 2627 63 Rd. St., Kenosha, WI. They have chosen to honor him by hosting his Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 12, 2022 between 2 and 4 p.m. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation toward his burial expenses.
