John G. Simons, 80, of Zion died March 29, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
John was born January 7, 1927 in Zion and married his wife Pamella on May 18, 1974. He was a member of Christ Community Church in Zion, and retired from Abbott Laboratories in 1989. John retired from the Air Force and Army after serving 20 years. He was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War in which he received both a Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife, Pamella Simons; four children, Doug (Tracy) Amann, Mike (Carla) Amann, Barb (Joe) Amann, William (Marilyn) Simons; and eight grandchildren, Christopher 16, Kevin 16, Jessica 15, Doug Jr. 12, Alyssa 9, Nicholas 8, Mathew 6, Alexander 9 months.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and May Simon.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, Lloyd Chapel, 2500 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion, Illinois.
