John G. Wynn Jr., 55, of Kenosha, WI. The sun rose on his life on August 20, 1956, in Portsmouth, VA, and the sun set on Sunday, September 11, 2011, at Kenosha United Hospital.
John was raised in Zion, IL, and was a graduate of Zion-Benton Township High School. He married Celeste Tipton on July 3, 1980. John was employed as a Chemical Dispenser for 26 years at Abbott Laboratories until health reasons interfered. He was a gifted musician, playing both bass and drums with many bands, and often did charity work with his music. His principal enjoyments were jazz and blues.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 31 years, Celeste Wynn; sons, Steven Reid-Wynn of Round Lake Beach, IL and Marcel Reid Sr. of Youngstown, OH; daughter, Qiana Wynn of Kenosha, WI; grandchildren, Esmeralda Reid and Marcel Reid Jr.; father, John G. (Barbara) Wynn Sr. of Washington D.C.; step-father, Ray H. Fisher of Madison AL; brothers, Ronald A. (Diane) Wynn of Waukegan, IL, and Eric S. Wynn of Chicago, IL; sisters, Dawn-Richelle Wynn of San Antonio, TX, Desirée (Joseph) Cole of Waukegan, IL, and Zakiya Wynn of Silver Springs, MD; and several nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Clorice V. Fisher and sister, Danielle Renée Wynn.
A Funeral Service will be Friday, September 16, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Friends may greet the family on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association or VH1 Save the Music Foundation.
