Jon K. Hanline, 62, of Zion, IL, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025 in Libertyville, IL.
Jon was born August 30, 1962 in El Paso, Texas. He previously lived in Ardmore, TN, Atlanta, GA, Waukegan, IL and Las Vegas, NV before moving back to Zion twelve years ago. Jon graduated from Butler High School in Huntsville, AL and went on to earn his Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Forensics from Jacksonville State University. He married Terri Horton on July 25, 1998 in Waukegan, IL. He was a Deputy Coroner with the Lake County Illinois Coroner's office from 1991 until 1995. Jon then went on to work with Dish Network and i3 Research. Jon was an avid College Football fan with an unmatched loyalty to the Alabama Crimson Tide and Jacksonville State University, his alma mater. He was also a fan of the Bulls, Bears and Cubs. He was an animal lover and enjoyed golfing and cooking, especially grilling.
Jon is survived by his wife, Terri Horton; step-daughter, Sarah Duffield; grandchildren, Liam and Conor Duffield; dogs, Rose and Iris; sister, Karen Stewart, brothers Larry Hanline, Jay Hanline, and Don Hanline.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Barbara Hanine; and a step-daughter, Shelly Rush.
