Jonathan Edward Rice

Jonathan Edward Rice, 30, of Oak Lawn, IL died Monday, February 25, 2019.

Jonathan was born April 17, 1988 in Evanston, IL.  He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northern Illinois University, a partial M.S. in Engineering from Northern Illinois University and was employed with Cosmos.  Jonathan was passionate about robotics and automation, traveling, craft beers, dancing and his eclectic wardrobe complete with graphic tees and a bear costume.

Jonathan is survived by his parents, Joan Durkee and Patrick (Donna) Rice; siblings, Anthony (Diana) Rice, Kelly Rice and Karen (Aaron) Rice-David.  He was especially close to his uncles, John Rice, Bob Rice and aunt Nicole Udzenija.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Edward and Jean Rice and Charles and Marilyn Durkee.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion.  A memorial service and time to share memories and stories will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
