Joseph Pfetzer, 47 passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at home after a series of illnesses. He was a longtime believer in Christ and was baptized at Heritage Church in Round Lake.
Graduated from Stevenson High School and attended Harper College. Was employed by Jewel Foods Store in the Northern Suburbs. Most importantly was a people person who liked to be helpful in all situations. In May 2017 Joe was part of a group from Lake County Center for Independent Living to advocate for the rights of the disabled in Springfield, speaking with several state representatives.
Joe enjoyed playing golf and volleyball along with drawing in his younger days. Scrabble, bowling and fishing became his passion later in life. He enjoyed teaching new online players different games. Joe was a gamer at heart.
Among his fond memories of going on Mission Trips with Christ Church Lake Forest and helping others. He remained a true friend to many people . He was able to guide several men to Christ over his lifetime. In the past couple of years became involved with giving holiday meals to families in need anonymously and that remained one of his passions to do what Christ taught us. Take care of our brothers and sisters as Christ takes care of us.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory wife Victoria. Father, Milton Pfetzer of Kenosha, WI and LaDonna Pfetzer of Highland Park, IL. Sister Suzanne (David) Alvin, Brother David (Cindy) Pfetzer, James Poulos Brother-in-law, Steve Andy Poulos Brother in-law. Mary Kantola Sister in-law with a host of many family and wonderful friends. Proceeded in death by Robert Askeland (Brother) and Harvey Burt (Brother In-law).
A memorial gathering will be held at Libertyville Covenant Church 250 S. St. Mary’s Road, Libertyville, IL on Friday August 3, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
