Josie B Moore, 81 of Zion Illinois went home to glory on September 22, 2019 at Vista East Hospital, Waukegan, Il.
She was born April 30, 1938 in Coatopa, Alabama to Louis and Louise May.
Josie confessed in Christ August 10, 1955 and baptized September 11, 1955 at ST. Michaels Church under the leadership of Rev. Ivory Moore and Louis May.
Josie graduated from Belmont High School in 1956 in Coatopa, Ala.
On November 30, 1957 she was united in marriage to Albert Moore Sr. Josie retired from Northshore Geriatric Center in North Chicago, Il.
Josie enjoyed fishing, cooking, bingo, quilting and watching the cubs, but most of all spending time with her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters: Algertha (William, JR) Walker, of Zion Il, Clarise Moore of Waukegan Il, Blondie (Charles) Curtis of Waukegan, Il. Two sons: Gary (Marisa) Moore, of Zion, Il and Ethan (Laura) Moore of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Two Goddaughters: Yalonda Ewing and Sherby Dianne Scruto. Eleven Grandchildren, twenty-four Great Grandchildren, one Great Great Grandson. She also leaves behind four beloved sisters: Augusta May of Gurnee, Il, Mary May of Zion, Il., Elett (Craig) Peterkin of Charleston, South Carolina, and Christine Davis of Waukegan, Il. One Uncle Simmie Lee McCoy of Coatopa, Alabama and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by husband Albert Moore Sr., parents, louis and Louise May, two sisters, Annie Lee Williams, Bernecie Williams-Easley. Son, Bernard Moore and great grandson, Kyren Hamilton.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the First Corinthians Church, 1529 Elizabeth Avenue, North Chicago, Illinois 60064 until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, Illinois.
