Juan M. Zavala, 35, of Zion, IL died on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at home peacefully with his family by his side after a short battle with cancer.
He was born January 26, 1980 in Waukegan, IL. Juan was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church of Beach Park, Il. He was employed at Abbvie. Juan was a true fan of the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bears. He enjoyed spending time with his children and enjoyed traveling. He loved adventure and his sweets. He had an infectious smile and a witty sense of humor. He will be remembered for his knowledge of Trivia and movie quotes as well as song lyrics.
Survivors include his wife Brooke; children Gavin, Zavier, and Oaklie Zavala all at home; father and mother Manny and Dora Zavala of Waukegan, IL; his mother-in-law Janis (Dan) Kreul of Winthrop Harbor, IL; one brother Manuel (Uyen) Zavala of Denver, CO and their children Lily and Aiden Zavala; his sister-in-law Lauren Lawler of Zion, IL; and paternal grandparents Moises and Teresa Zavala of Waukegan, IL; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and special friend Angie Hughes. He will be missed dearly by all.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Juan and Cleofas Villalobos; uncles Porfirio Zavala, Johnny Villalobos, and Pedro Montalvo; aunts Lydia Franco and Marie Villalobos; and his father-in-law John Lawler.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 15, 2015, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 16, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W Wadsworth Road, Beach Park, IL.
