Juliette Dabbeekeh, 86, of Zion, Illinois, went peacefully home to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 20, 2009, surrounded by her family.
Juliette was born October 16, 1922 in Jerusalem and came to Zion in 1957. She attended Christ Community Church of Zion and had participated in Bible studies with her friends. She was previously employed at the Zion Curtain Factory and later retired from Warwick Electronics in 1974. Prior to coming to this country, Juliette taught school in Jerusalem before she was married. She was also a former member of Illinois Dunesland Garden Club and had participated in Zion Senior Citizens activities through the Park District.
Survivors include her children, Aida Watson and Albert Dabbeekeh, both of Zion; two sisters, Evelyn Dabbeekeh of Arizona and Violet Banda who lives overseas; one brother, Munir (Nellie) Khbeis who also lives overseas; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Essa in 1986; one grandson, Michael Watson in 1989; two sisters, Olivia Khbeis and Mary Hayes; one brother, Michael Khbeis; and her parents, Tawfik and Victoria Khbeis.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion, with Pastor Ken Langley officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 26th, from 9:30 until time of services at the Church. Memorial donations to Christ Community Church have been suggested.
