June Russell

June Russell of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois passed away December 3, 2024 at home with her husband by her side. She was born June 14, 1944 in Zion, Illinois to parents William and Velma Powell.

June married her husband, Eugene Russell June 1, 1963 at her parents home in Zion, Illinois. She worked as a nurse, starting at the Zion Hospital in 1963, then Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan. After working at Victory, she worked for Dr. Frazin in Waukegan before retiring in 2012. June enjoyed reading, going "up north", and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene Russell; children, Terri (Danny) Gray, Lisa (Dave) Johnson, and Rhonda Falotico; grandchildren, Craig Mills, Kyle (Lindy) Mills, Morgan (Steve) Eastscott, Megan (Dan) Mazurek, Matthew Johnson, Tyler Falotico, Sydney Johnson, Alexia Johnson, Alyssa Russell, and Gianna Falotico; great- grandchildren, Lincoln Mills, Addison Mills, Eli Mills, and Eddie Mills; siblings, Helen Qualls and Eddie Powell; brother-in-laws, Dean Russell and Dwayne Russell; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Velma Powell; and sisters, Nell Johnson and Faye Mares.

Visitation will be held Monday December 9, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m.
