Karen Lee Blanck, 68, a life-long resident of Zion, IL died July 12, 2015 in Waukegan.
Karen was born December 28, 1946 in Waukegan, she was a 1964 graduate of Zion-Benton Township High School. Karen married William Blanck on February 6, 1965 at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Zion, she and Bill were also members of the First Baptist Church in Winthrop Harbor. Karen retired in 2009 from the Lake County Court House. She loved to babysit Jaxson and Eli. She also enjoyed, camping, and traveling, and volunteering for Love, Inc.
Karen is survived by daughters, Lori (Jeff) Sells of Zion, IL, and Lisa (Dave) Huseman of Pekin, IL; son Bill (Liane) Blanck of Wadsworth, IL; grandchildren Jeffery (Katie) Sells, Heather Sells, Mattison and Nathan Blanck, and Nicholas and Logan Huseman; great-grand-son Eli Sells; brothers Michael Springer, and Jeff (Linda) Springer; sister Kim (Jim) Leech; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Blanck; parents Clyde and Virginia Springer; father-in-law and mother-in-law William Blanck Sr. And Eleanor Blanck; and nephew Mikey Springer.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Pastor Dave Adams, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations have been suggested to Love INC of Lake County, 339 Lakewood Ave., Waukegan, IL 60085.
