Karen L. Sloan

Karen L. Sloan (nee Dukowitz), 47 of Beach Park, IL died on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born July 1, 1968 in Waukegan, IL. Karen was employed for the past 18 years at Children’s Health Center in Gurnee, IL. Survivors include her husband of 27 years Shawn; daughters Alyssa (Tim) Whitens of Kenosha, WI and Hailey Sloan of Beach Park, IL; one granddaughter Layla Whitens; two siblings Cindy (Dennis) Parry of Beach Park, IL and Daniel (Melissa) Dukowitz of Gurnee, IL; sister-in-law Patsy Dukowitz of Gurnee, IL; brother-in-law Michael Anhock of Kenosha, WI; many nieces and nephews; and her very special fur baby companion, “Sophie”. She was preceded in death by brother Rod Dukowitz; sister Linda Anhock; great niece Kayla Gillett; and her parents David and LaDine Dukowitz. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL, with Rev. Tim Eddy officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
