Kathleen Kappers (nee Barnes)

Kathleen (Barnes) Kappers, 67, of Kenosha passed away on Tuesday January 14, 2025 at Hospice Alliance, Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, surrounded by her loving husband Bill Kappers along with family and friends.

Kathy was born on August 17, 1957, in Ironwood, Michigan. She is the daughter of the late Eugene and Agnes (Segalin) Barnes. She was educated in the local schools of Kenosha. Kathy worked at ShopKo, Marina Shores, Pick N Save, and later retired in office work. Her hobbies included cheering for the Green Bay Packers, listening to music, watching funny tv shows, and cooking. One of her favorite things to do was going out with friends laughing and enjoying cocktails together. But most of all, she loved spending time with the love of her life, her husband, Bill Kappers.

Survivors include her husband Bill Kappers, her stepchildren Tom (Katie) Kappers, Karyn (Anthony) Nudo, grandchildren Alexis, Gracie, Delaney, and Tommy Kappers, Ava Nudo, her niece, Karlie Barnes, and extended family in Ashland, Wisconsin and Michigan. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Gary Barnes and Kristine Barnes.

The family and friends of Kathy are welcome to join her celebration of life at the Moose Lodge in Kenosha on Sunday January 19 from 1:00-4:00pm.
