Keith William Lindahl, 74, of Pleasant Prairie, WI passed away peacefully at his residence on March 23, 2014 surrounded by his family following a courageous fight with lung cancer.
He was born April 5, 1939 in Kenosha, WI the son of the late Norm and the late Esther (nee Jackson) Lindahl of Pleasant Prairie, WI. He was educated in Kenosha schools and graduated from Salem Central in 1957. Keith served his country in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1961 as a Firefighter. He worked for 32 years at Johnson Motors as a die caster, retiring in 1999.
Keith was an avid fisherman who spent many hours in a boat, much of that mastering the secrets with his buddies Tom and Joe. He was also an avid gardener and many people enjoyed the view of him in his garden as they passed by on 39th Avenue. In his retirement he also enjoyed his Tuesday afternoon beers with his friends at Gordy's and Starlight Club. He will be truly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Karen, whom he met on a blind date. It was in his words, "Love at first sight"; three children Neal (Kim) Lindahl of Kenosha, WI, Christine (Mark) Ball of Kenosha, WI, and Keith (Melissa) Lindahl of Pleasant Prairie, WI; four grandsons Dan Boettcher, David Lindahl, Mark Ball II, and Justin Ball; and his brother Greg Lindahl.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 29, 2014, from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. at North Prairie United Methodist Church, 5000 9th Street, Zion, IL. A funeral service will follow at the Church at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Kwang Sung Lim officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to your favorite charity of choice in his name has been suggested.
