Keith Wayne Patton

Keith Wayne Patton, 66, of Zion, IL, passed away peacefully with his family on Thursday, August 1, 2024.

He was born on June 25th, 1958 to Otis and Patricia Patton in Warrenton, VA. Shortly after he was born, they moved to Richmond, VA and then onto Chesterfield, VA where the Patton family planted their roots. After graduating from Midlothian High School in 1976, he went on to serve his country in the United States Navy.

Keith had a love for cars, so, naturally, he decided to use those skills to begin a career as a mechanic, sharing his knowledge along the way.

Keith also loved spending time with family and friends, playing his guitar, flying model airplanes, and riding his motorcycle. When he could, he would get on his bike and ride out on a new adventure. One time he rode from Illinois to Virginia on his bike! Imagine what a ride that was!

Keith is preceded in death by his father, Otis Nelson Patton and his wife, Susie Patton. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Patton; his brother, Kevin Patton; his sisters Valerie Lingerfelt and Victoria Carter; his five children, Kerry McLaughlin, Kori Fleming, Austen Patton, Kristen Rich, and Kellie Roberts. He also had eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service will be held in his honor at 11am on Saturday, August 10th at Fellowship Baptist Church, Spotsylvania, VA. Visitation to be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Interment to follow service in the church cemetery with fellowship afterwards in the church hall. Pallbearers for Keith’s service will include Kevin Patton, Donald Cox, Rick Hall, Paol Balducci, Duke Jordan, and Howard Hager.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date in Illinois. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church.
