Kenneth Foster Anthony Sr, 68, a lifelong resident of Zion, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, April 13, 2008, after a long battle with diabetes and heart complications.
He was born May 4, 1939 in Waukegan. From his early childhood, Kenneth was devoted to the Zion Passion Play. He played various roles and was particularly remembered for playing Peter the Fisherman. Kenneth enjoyed fishing at Sand Pond, dirt fishing (metal detecting), gardening, photography and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 43 years, Mary Ann; children, Kenneth (Karla) Anthony, Jr. of Zion, David Anthony, and Eric (Suzette) Anthony, both of Kenosha, WI, and Kathy Kness of Zion; grandchildren, Sebastian and Kyrsten
Anthony, Aleigha, Elliott, and Annelise Kness, Helaina and Josiah Anthony; and Britney Anthony; and her mother, Misty Benda; sisters, Joyce (Keith) Carr of Gary, IN and Norma (Jerry) Jones of Kenosha, WI; and brother, Clifton Anthony of Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Rufus and Nettie Anthony; sister, Doris Ernstmeyer; and brothers, Norman, Alvin and Carlton Anthony.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at 3:30 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Dr., Zion, with Rev. Jon Wiziarde officiating. Friends may greet the family on Saturday from 2:00p.m. until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Camp Zion Ministry of Christ Community Church or the American Diabetes Association.
