Kenneth E. Storvik of Beach Park, IL passed away on May 21, 2015 of natural causes at the age of 97.
Ken was born in Chicago, IL on February 2, 1918. He attended school in Chicago and served in the Army during WWII. He married Marian E. Pearson in 1946 in Chicago, they moved to Round Lake, IL in 1950 and then moved to Waukegan in 1954 until 1975 when they moved to Beach Park, IL.
He worked at Johns Manville in Waukegan as an electrician until retiring in 1983. He enjoyed inventing things and designed many automation devices or processes for Johns Manville to help with their production of products.
He was known for sharing his love of Jesus, his Lord and Savior and showing this love through his many acts of kindness and hospitality. He attended and served in many capacities at Immanuel Baptist Church in Waukegan, IL for many years and then later at Grace Missionary Church in Zion until present.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian E. (nee Pearson); parents Emily and Anton Storvik; sister Dagny K. Storvik; and grandson Chad A. Storvik.
Survived by his son Ronald (Jill) Storvik; grandson Brian (Mary Ann) Storvik; granddaughter Suzanne (Tim Leigh), great-grandsons Jacob and Bennett Leigh; son Rev. Darrell (Ruth) Storvik; and grandson Nathan Storvik.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL., with a celebration of life service to follow at 12:00 p.m.
