Krista Malley (Boerman) was born on August 7, 1975 in Hammond, Indiana, to Joe and Debbie Boerman. As a child, she lived in Leroy, Ohio for 10 years before the family moved to Waukegan, Illinois.
She was married to Robert Malley on August 11, 2001. Their daughter, Ceana Louise, was born January 2, 2004. Krista always wanted to be married and have children. God granted her deepest desires with both. She also wanted to be a school teacher. She was both creative and committed. Millburn Elementary was her perfect environment. Her brother, Nate Boerman and family (Becky, Wrigley) and sister, Erika Burt and family (Kris, Sophie) all live close to each other. A tight family unit. Krista loved(s) Jesus and is a follower of His. His Word, the Bible, was her guide for life. Family and friends were her passion. She refused to ever say a negative thing about anyone. Which is why everyone loved her. CHOOSE JOY was the mantra of her days. Even though she fought a variety of physical ailments since age 6 (Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, Iritis, and then stage 4 Melanoma cancer, diagnosed March, 2019) she embraced each day by Choosing Joy. She did that to the very end. At the time of her cancer diagnosis, her daughter created a drawing that says, "I WILL WIN". And she did! This is how she fought her battle every day. She did NOT allow cancer to overcome her. She lived with power, passion and purpose. She did not leave our side until it was time. Our whole family knows she is with Jesus. THAT is making all the difference. We love you Teeta. ❤️
