Laurel D. Lee (nee Neal) fell asleep in the arms of Jesus on December 24, 2016 at home in Pleasant Prairie, WI. Laurel was born February 23, 1924 to Jay and Clara (nee Davis) Neal and spent most of her life in Zion, IL where she attended schools and also became an active member in her church.
Laurel was a devoted wife to her husband, Harold E. Lee, with whom she raised five children in a God-honoring home. Laurel was active in her church’s music, Bible teaching, and transportation ministries. Laurel also worked for NOSCO Inc., Waukegan, IL before retiring in 1986.
Laurel is survived by her five children Gerald (Ruth) Lee of Las Cruces, NM, David (Lorayne) Lee of Port Charlotte, FL, Gail (Paul) Myers of Hudson, WI, Kenneth (Lara) Lee of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and Susan (Gregg) Halberstadt of Farmington, MI; one sister Gloria (Curtis) Reese of Miles City, MT; and eleven grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Laurel was preceded in death by her husband Harold E. Lee; one brother Everett (Ruth) Neal; and two sisters Myrtle (Walter) Noren and Wilma (Robert) Danks.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Private interment services will be held later at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp Zion through Christ Community Church in Zion.
