Lawrence "Larry" J. Clark

June 30, 1937 — February 15, 2025

Lawrence “Larry” J. Clark, left this world peacefully on February 15, 2025, at Marshfield Medical Center in Weston, Wisconsin. He was one of eleven children, and was born June 30, 1937 to Charles and Retta Clark in Beloit, Wisconsin. His family later relocated to Exeland, Wisconsin.

In 1955 Larry moved to Antioch, Illinois for two years where he farmed prior to meeting Margaret Marie Dreyer in 1957 and then relocating to Zion, Illinois following their marriage on August 31, 1958.

Larry and Marie had four children, John (Monica), Julie, Gary (Cheryl), Tim (Chris). Larry worked for the City of Zion Public Works Department as a heavy machine operator and retired in 1997 with 33 years. He was a member of Lakeview Church in Zion, Illinois for 30 years.

Following the death of his wife Marie on July 4, 2001, Larry relocated back to Exeland, Wisconsin in 2002 where he purchased 40 acres. His passions included restoring old tractors, garage sales, playing card games, and daily breakfast outings with his friends.

He is survived by his four children; five grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; four sisters, Lila, Eileen, Glenda and Audrey; and brother Steve. 

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Retta; father, Charles; wife, Marie; and five brothers, Charles, Jim, Bob, Bill and Art.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Meteor Hills Bible Church located at 13521 WI-48 in Exeland, Wisconsin 54835.

Visitation will be held Saturday March 1, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Road Zion, Illinois, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. A procession will follow to the Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago, Illinois.
