Lee "Ace" Penttinen, 70, of Waukegan, IL, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2010, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.
Lee was born August 4, 1940, in Waukegan, and was a 1959 graduate of Waukegan Township High
School. He married Gay Halvorsen on October 7, 1972. Lee was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Waukegan. He owned Ace Antenna Service of Waukegan and was an employee of the Waukegan Park District. Lee served with United States Navy (4 years active, 2 years, Naval Reserve) and was Junior Vice Commander of the American Legion Post #281 of Waukegan.
His 38 loving years with his wife Gay included yearly vacations to Cancun and many weekends, camping.
Survivors include his wife, Gay; sisters, Patricia (George) Minkler of Waukegan and Janet East of Bloomington, IL, brothers, Dale (JoAnne) Penttinen of Pompano Beach, FL, Thomas (Jane) Penttinen of Oro Valley, AZ, and Ned Penttinen of Oakley, IL; loving sister-in-law, Vicky Joy Halvorsen of Beach Park, IL; numerous nieces and nephews, and twelve grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Leona Penttinen; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Moore and David East; and two half sisters and two half brothers.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at 1st Presbyterian Church of Waukegan, 122 N. Martin Luther King Dr., Waukegan, with Pastor David Eikenberry, officiating. Interment is private for the family. Visitation will be Friday, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
