Lois Marceleitte Crowell, greeted the Lord on April 1, 2014. She was born to Robert and Bessie Winrich in Madison, Wisconsin on May 20, 1926 and had been a resident of Zion, Illinois since April 1966.
Lois and her four brothers were raised by their parents in a Lord loving home in Wisconsin. She and her husband of 51 years, Lawrence (Larry) Crowell, felt led by the Lord to move to Zion after Larry's army retirement to establish another such home for their three children. During her life she was a devoted homemaker, an employee of Zion Public School's food preparation staff and a faithful member of Christian Assembly of God in Zion. Lois was known and admired by her family and friends for her unwavering spirit, strength, sense of humor, love of great food and the ability to create it but most importantly her love of life and the Lord. During her senior years she was able to satisfy her love of travel with trips to states, including Alaska, but also to Jerusalem in 2007.
She is survived by her son and wife, David and Susan Crowell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter and husband, John and DeAnne Stolarik of Zion, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Vickie Crowell of Kenosha, Wisconsin; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother and wife, Keith and Jeaniece Winrich of Edmond, Oklahoma.
Lois was predeceased by her husband Lawrence L. Crowell and her son Dwayne M. Crowell; her parents; and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 9am to 10 am on April 5, 2014 at Christian Assembly of God, 2929 Bethel Boulevard, Zion Illinois. A funeral service will follow at 10 am. Memorial donations may be made to Christian Assembly of God.
