Lois Johnson, 99, of Zion, IL died on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Sheridan Medical Complex in Kenosha, WI.
Lois was born September 11, 1912 in Zion. She was a life long member of Christ Community Church of Zion. Lois worked from 1963 to 1978 for Midway Heating Supply in Zion. She was also a member of Zion Senior Citizens where she belonged to Senior Bowling League, the 500 Mile Walking Club, and she enjoyed traveling with the Club. Lois enjoyed playing golf and in 1988 got a hole in one at Shiloh Park in Zion. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, and babysitting her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters Bonnie (Duane) Wolf of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Shirley (Harold) Stried of Marion, OH, and Vikki (Sam) Schiera of Princeton, IL; six grandchildren Christopher (Kim) Wolf, Diane (Mark) Ottersen, Jennifer (Mike) Rasch, Leann (Todd) Morgan, Tim (Anna) Stried, and Keith (Jessica) Stried; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon in 1983; one grandchild Douglas Wolf; her parents Oscar and Isabelle Hanon; and nine brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the Lloyd Chapel of Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion, with Pastor Jon Wiziarde officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services in the Lloyd Chapel. Memorial donations to Camp Zion have been suggested.
