Lois Kutz, 92, of Zion went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at home.
Lois was born February 10, 1917 in Zion. She was a lifetime member of Christ Community Church of Zion where she served many faithful years as a Sunday School teacher, choir member and had a role in many other ministries. She retired from a long standing civil service position at Great Lakes Naval Base. No matter what the circumstances, Lois always lived a life of joy in helping others.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Charlotte Kutz of Bellevue, Washington; nieces and nephews, Arline (Richard) Nelson-Bird of Irvine, California, Terry (Vickie) Kutz of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Tom Kutz of Jackson, Michigan, Ed (Liz) Kutz of Arlington, Texas, James (Karrie) Kutz of Los Altos, California, Kathleen Kutz of Seattle, Washington and Michael (Pat) Cassidy of Pooler, Georgia; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by nephew Dennis Shafer; three brothers, Paul, Silas and John Kutz; two sisters, Miriam Cassidy and Ruth Shafer; and her parents, Samuel and Lillian Kutz.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion. Interment was private at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Memorial donations to Camp Zion, a ministry of Christ Community Church, have been suggested.
