Lois I. Streich

Lois I. Streich, 88, of Zion, IL, passed away peacefully at home on February 24, 2025 in Zion, IL.

Lois was born September 23, 1936 in Waukegan, IL, to Alfred and Bernice Nelson. She married Wallace A. Streich on August 27, 1955 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waukegan, IL. Lois graduated from Waukegan Township High School with the class of 1954 then went to work at Illinois Bell Telephone Company, then owned and operated Streich’s Flower Shop in Zion with her husband until 1980.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Streich; grandchildren, Stephanie Post, Nichole Streich; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Stanley Nelson. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Bernice Nelson; precious daughter-in-law, Carey Kremply Streich; son, James Streich and his wife, Sharon Streich; and sister, Mary Schmitt.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private for the family at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
