Lorenzo A. "Lencho" Vazquez

Lorenzo (Lencho) A. Vazquez, 83, of Zion, Illinois peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019.

Lorenzo was born October 27, 1935 in Villa Union, Coahuila, Mexico. Lorenzo attended school in Mexico. He came to the United States in 1952. Lorenzo worked at Nelson Construction Company in Deerfield, Illinois. Lorenzo was very attentive to the love of his life, Christina O. Espinosa. He treated her like almost most women could dream of, a princess. He did so many small things daily that combined were huge and so loving. He ensured she had her morning coffee in bed, helped her bathe, painted her nails, braided her hair, lighted the sidewalks to safeguard her journey into their home in the evenings, cooked delicious meals for her daily, made sure her phone was on the charger nightly, and pretty much waited on her every need with love. He loved doing so and loved being active. He loved gardening and landscaping and won an award for their yard. Just last week this almost 84-year-old was up on a ladder trimming trees. Christina didn’t like him doing it, but he still snuck around exerting himself with chores and running (via a few block walk) errands. He will be deeply missed by Christina and the entire Espinosa family.

Survivors include his beloved significant other of 32 years, Christina O. Espinosa of Zion.

Viewing will be held at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion at 11:00 a.m.
