Lorraine Gonka

Lorraine Gonka, 91 of Zion, IL, and Phoenix, AZ, died on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Aurora Healthcare Hospital in Kenosha, WI. She was born January 28, 1924, in Chicago, IL. Lorraine had an unwavering faith in God and was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church,Beach Park, IL. A consummate mother and homemaker, Lorraine was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Her other interests included, watching Dancing With the Stars, Wheel of Fortune, playing bunko and talking on the phone. Survivors include her children, Dennis (Julie) Gonka of Winthrop Harbor, IL, and Ronald (Mary) Gonka of Park Ridge, IL; grandchildren, Amy, Karen, Mark, Amanda, Anthony, and Caitlin Gonka, Catherine and Scott Bruining, Ashlie and Craig Free, Rich and Amanda Rossmann, Rob and Abby Hanson, and Tracy Dowell; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Anna, Quinnlan, Alex, and Liam; and many nieces and nephews and other family. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 18, 2015, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd., Beach Park, IL.
