Lucy Messick

Lucy J. Messick (Peterson), 96 of Zion, Illinois, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at home. Lucy was born January 16th 1916 in Zion. She was united in marriage on February 26th, 1940 to Floyd E. Messick. Lucy was a lifelong member of Christ Community Church as well as a member of Faith Baptist Church in Winter Haven, Florida, where she and Floyd lived in retirement. She was a Beauty Operator and for years ran a shop out of her home. Lucy is survived by two children, Anita (Bill) Dean of Zion and Burton (Kathy) Messick of Glendale, Arizona; four grandchildren, Douglas Dean, Jason (Melissa) Messick, Lindsey (Josh) Coburn and Audrey (Adam) Koesser; 7 great-grandchildren, Milena Messick, Elena, Levi, and Emily Coburn, Jackson, Adelyn and Deklan Koesser; and one brother, Robert (Jettie Rose) Peterson of Sun City, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Floyd; her parents, Bert and Lottie Peterson; one sister, Anna Richards; and two brothers, Clifford Peterson and Daniel Peterson. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 5,2012 at 11:00 am at Christ Community Church In Zion, with Pastor Ken Langley officiating. lnterment will follow at Mount Olivet Memorial Park in Zion. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00am to 11:00am. Memorial donations to Camp Zion in Door County, Wisconsin have been suggested
