Lyle Raymond Ianson, 93, of Zion, IL, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015.
Lyle was born September 14, 1921 in Viola, IL, and married Patricia Cole on November 28, 1946, in Waukegan. A devoted Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park. He was a decorated WWII Veteran and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion of Waukegan. Lyle worked for Chrysler for 37 years and retired in 1982. He enjoyed gardening, crosswords, coin collecting and spending time with family and friends. Loving Husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.
Survivors include his children, Russell (Laurie) Ianson, Ruth (Jeff) Dykiel, Steve (Jackie) Ianson; 3 generations of grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Cheryl Kee and Donna Ianson; son-in-law, Arvin Walters; several nieces and nephews and other family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; sons, Kenneth and Joseph Ianson; daughter, Susan Walters; parents, John and Jessie Ianson; and 4 siblings.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd. Beach Park, IL. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 25, 2015, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Memorial donations are suggested to the family.
