Lynn Dolores Rider Noren
Lynn passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021. She was born January 13, 1938 to Lillian and Ernest Rider in Waukegan, IL at the home of her oldest half-sister, Dolores Swarat. Although her legal name is Lynn, she was known as Lynne to her class of 1955 Antioch Township High School classmates, and to her seven high school girlfriends known as, “The Crazy Eight.”
She was an active member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Zion, IL. She served as church secretary/administrative assistant for 34 and a half years, retiring December 22, 2007. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and the former chairperson of the Susannah Wesley Circle.
On September 16, 1961, Lynn and Donald were married at Memorial United Methodist Church in Zion, IL. In 2011, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends. In 2016, they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary with family.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria (Tom) Kaye of Green Bay, WI; a son, John Larsson of Perth, Western Australia; grandchildren, Gregory (Ellen) Kaye of Menomonee Falls, WI, Alex and Daniel Larsson of Perth, Western Australia; three great-grandchildren, Charles, Cooper and Molly Kaye of Menomonee Falls, WI; a number of nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews; and a sister-in-law, Ann Marsh of Aztec, NM.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald. At the time of his death, they had 55 years and 8 months of life together. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Lillian Rider; seven half-sisters, Alma Rider, Ruby Holmquist, Evelyn (Tom) Copeland, Esther (Frank) Gray, Georgia Hollison, Dolores (John) Swarat and Bernice (Richard) Bernhard; three half-brothers, Glenn (Ethel) Rider, Lloyd Rider and Leslie Dale (Echo) Rider.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at United Memorial Methodist Church, 2935 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Kwadwo Ntim officiating. Memorial contributions to the church have been suggested.
