Margaret Mary Grant, 98, of Waukegan, died on Monday, April 21, 2008 at Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home in Zion.
She was born November 13, 1909 in O'Connor, Nebraska and came to Waukegan in 1957. She was a very active member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church of Waukegan where she served in many roles, including Eucharistic Minister. In 1975 she retired from Johnson Motors in Waukegan.
Survivors include children Louis James (Barbara Gamberale) Grant Jr. of Antioch, Illinois, Mary Lou (Michael) Leyden of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, Lawrence M. (Lorraine) Grant of Madison, Wisconsin and Thomas W. (Lynn) Grant of Plano, Illinois; eleven grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one sister Agatha Kullman of Denver, Colorado; two sisters-in-law Frances Kavanaugh of Chicago, Illinois and Florence Kavanaugh of Denver, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis J. Grant in 1965; two granddaughters Tracey Grant and Deborah Grant Hinson; and three brothers and five sisters.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 624 Douglas Avenue, Waukegan, Illinois. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, Illinois. Visitation will be Thursday, April 24th, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Anastasia Catholic Church have been suggested.
